November 11

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month

Veteran’s Day
Armistice Day
Remembrance Day

Each year, November 11 is a day set aside to honor those brave men and women who have served in the armed forces. Very few of us have not been touched in some way by a member of the military, yet few of us who haven’t served can understand the enormity of what they have done for us. If you know or love or ARE one of these heroes, we invite you to comment with a few words so we can share in honoring and thanking them.

To the members of our military, past and present, we thank you for your service.

  1. My father is a Vietnam vet and my grandfather served in Korea, and many other relatives have served as well. The only stories I ever heard were the funny ones, though I’m sure there are many more that aren’t. I went with my dad to see the Wall in DC a few years ago and then Arlington. My family has been fortunate, my dad is a disabled veteran, but there are so many families with loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s difficult to do, but we should try and remember this not only on November 11th, but everyday.
