‘Tis the season for reading romance…

With the holidays approaching, I’m always inspired to spend a little extra time doing what I like best. Since it’s too cold to ride bikes and 4-wheelers, and since I don’t ice fish, I prefer walks in the snow, cozy fires and hot chocolate with my husband and friends, long phone calls with people I love, football, northern lights watching, and lots of books. So I load up my Kindle and make a trip or two to my local bookstore and prepare for the ultimate paper binge.

This year I’ve decided to revisit a few of my favorite titles first, The Highlander’s Touch by Karen Marie Moning and The Red Tent by Anita Diamant for starters. After that, I’ll focus on a couple MC romances, Joanna Wylde’s newest, Reapers Fall and Standoff by Jamie Begley.

But my latest obsession is Highlander (my first Highlander novel releases next year), and I’m reading everything I can get my hands on. Just call me Hoover. Sue-Ellen Welfonder’s The Taming of Mairi MacKenzie and Bedeviled Heart by Carmen Caine top the list.

So between writing and editing, spending time with my family and pets, I’ll be reading like I’m cramming for college finals.

I wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving.

What tops your reading list over the holiday?

I have a huge pile of books by my bedside table. I think I’ll just do eeny meeny miny mo. Then there’s my Kindle — I guess I’ll pull up the second to latest page, close my eyes, and point. πŸ˜‰

I’m reading a lot of text books right now – would love the chance to read romance. I did make an exception for Lisa Kleypas’ newest release!
