imageI’m writing this post from the beautiful gardens at our hotel in Prague, Czech Republic, which happen to overlook the city. We’ve had a fabulous trip so far. Excellent weather, great food, and lots of wonderful places visited. The only problem we’ve had is the dog sitter back home calling with the news that my very large, long-haired Great Pyrenees had a run-in with a skunk yesterday. To be honest, though I feel bad for her having to deal with it, I’m not sorry I missed it.

I didn’t bring my laptop with me, so I can’t share the pictures from my camera, but I do have a few from my phone. One of the things I love to do when visiting new places is think about gardens, rooms, imagehouses, etc. that I would like to have. On this trip, I’ve been thinking about places where I would love to be able to sit and write. The first place is on one of these benches in the gardens at our hotel. I can enjoy a nice cup of tea, view the beautiful gardens and skyline of the city, and listen to the birds in the aviary. And of course, my dogs would love to keep me company if we lived here.

imageThe other place I would love to write from (especially in cold or rainy weather) is this lovely little room that sits in the Prague Castle complex at the top of the city. It has fantastic views and the round room has windows all the way around it to let in lots of natural light and breathtaking views.

We will soon be leaving this beautiful city and heading for Budapest, where I expect to find more wonderful places that would be perfect to write in. I’ll be back home when I write my next post, so I’ll be able share lots more pictures and more historical details about the places we’ve visited.

What is your favorite place to visit?

Thank you so much for sharing your pics, Ally! I hope it is okay to ask if you booked your travel yourself or are on a tour? I love visitng England and Germany but would like to branch out to more of Europe.

I’ve never been to Prague, but I’ve heard great things about it. I like visiting London- it’s one of my favorite cities. Would love to spend some time in Paris, too- I only had 1.5 days there years ago, which wasn’t anywhere near enough.
