Seven Enchanting New Regencies 99¢!!

Collette Cameron here, and today, I’m talking fairy tales!

More specifically, Charles Perrault’s whimsical stories. I was privileged to participate in the Regency Ever After set and our stories were based on fairy tales.

Little did I know when I started scouring the Internet for a tale a little less known, that French author Charles Perrault’s name would continually pop up. He was a seventieth century author, but his foray into folktales didn’t begin until he was in his late sixties.

Ever heard of Mother Goose? Puss in Boots? Cinderella? Little Red Riding Hood? The Sleeping Beauty? Diamonds and Toads? (I hadn’t heard of that one, but it’s the one I picked for my novella.)

Well, he wrote all of them!

While many of his tales include true love tropes, others, such as Little Red Riding Hood, were written as a warning about men preying on girls.

Interestingly, the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries abounded with new fairy tales by a slew of different authors from numerous countries. The eighteenth century yield but a few.

As you well know, these short, fanciful tales always include some seemingly insurmountable odds (Gotta have conflict, ya know!) and the hero or heroine yearns for something or someone. (There’s our goal.) Quite often, we find our heroine rescued in some form or other, and then she and the hero marry and live happily-ever-after.

See, I told you fairy tales were the original romances!

Regency Ever After: Timeless Tales and Fables releases today!

I’ve never written a story, particularly one based on a fairy tale, that ended up stirring deep personal feelings. In my contribution to the set, A DIAMOND FOR A DUKE, based on Charles Peraults fairy tale, Toads and Diamonds, I included an introduction that explains why.

My story became deeply personal and one with a message of encouragement that I hope you’ll help spread by purchasing, reviewing, sharing the release of this set.

These are seven brand new tales, written especially for this bundle. Each is loosely based on a fairy tale and transformed into the world of Regency Romance.

At first I wasn’t sure I could write such a novella, but found it was much easier than I’d anticipated. In fact, I was so excited about the first novella, it launched a brand new series: Seductive Scoundrels!
