Amanda Mariel on being Thankful

newfpAmanda Mariel on being thankful.

This time of year is full of excitement with the holidays, shopping, family, and friends. It is also a great time to reflect on what we are thankful for. 2016 has been full of ups and downs for me-more downs than ups the past few months. Despite it all I have a great deal to be thankful for.

My kids are happy and healthy, my career is fabulous, and I am surrounded by great friends and a loving family. It does not get much better than that.

My son, Ricky, is doing very well at his new school. After years of being satisfied with him simply passing his classes he is now achieving A’s and B’s. My daughter, Brooklyn, is also excelling at her new school and learning to play the clarinet. Both of my babies are kind and thoughtful-always willing to lend a hand. The other day I was not feeling well and they sent me to bed after which they cleaned up the dinner mess. I am blessed and grateful to have them.

My writing career is on FIRE! LOL. I am very grateful to have my fans and fellow authors. My most recent release has been selling very well and I have been steadily on two Amazon top 100 author charts. I have more ideas than time to write them-a great problem for an author to have-and the words have been pouring out of me.

I have the world’s best friends and family-seriously. As I said, the past few months have been very hard. My children’s father passed away. Soon after, my grandpa passed on. Most recently there was a scare with my daddy. Through it all, my friends were here for me to lend an ear or let me cry on their shoulders. To pitch in a helping hand, or pick up my slack. My family banded together and reminded each other how much we all love and care about one another. For all of this I am grateful.

The year has been full of trials and triumphs but I am thankful for what I have learned and accomplished in spite of the struggles and heartache. I hope that during this holiday season, you too take time to reflect on what you are thankful for and to let those around you know how much you love and care about them.
